Bradford Cathedral
Challenge
To restore this century-old cathedral’s original parquet flooring.
Response
We uplifted large areas of loose blocks, cleaned and relayed each one. We then sanded all areas, applied a dark stain to maintain the authentic look before sealing.
Result
The cathedral now has beautifully restored floors finished with a hard wearing commercial lacquer to stand the test of time.
Residential Living Room
Challenge
Our client contacted us after the removal of their rug and was faced by a shock of stains left from their pet.
Response
We sanded the floor to remove any trace of stains which can be shown in the second photo. Once sanded we finished the floor using Bona Craft Oil 2K Neutral and two coats of Bona Traffic HD.
Result
Our client fell back in love with her floor again and was over the moon with the result!
Thackley Primary School
Challenge
Five hundred little feet, 250 days of the year jumping, skipping and playing.
Response
Little and often is the best way to maintain the quality finish so we make annual visits around term time.
Result
The floor looks and functions as well as or better than ever before, with no need for any major renovation works to date.
Ilkley Blocks
Challenge
On removal of the carpet we were met with only half a parquet floor. It had been laid over 100 years ago and badly needed renovating.
Response
The composite floor was removed, allowing parquet block to be uplifted from another room and laid upon the levelled concrete floor.
Result
In the client’s own words, we were ‘friendly, pleasant to have around and most importantly, showed real expertise and the end result was fantastic.’
Newby Primary School
Challenge
To breathe life back into a highly trafficked school hall used for a number of activities, meaning it had to be hard wearing and effective.
Response
Sanded back to remove layers of previously varnished-in dirt and imperfections, re-sealed using a hardwearing, commercial/sport lacquer.
Result
A rejuvenated floor looking as good as the day it was first laid, a happy school, happy teachers and happy children.
Ilkley Hall Repair
Challenge
This corridor contained a large, unsightly skylight that had been covered with boards running the opposite way to the floor.
Response
Timbers were removed and replaced with reclaimed boards to match and blend with the original floor.
Result
Having been repaired, coloured and sealed, the result was a seamless and consistent finish to the original floor.
Knowleswood Primary School and Nursery
Challenge
To breathe new life back into a worn and tired looking school hall used for everything from school assemblies to P.E. lessons.
Response
Refurbished the school’s worn strip flooring and coated it with Junkers HP Commercial Lacquer to give it a new lease of life.
Result
A top job with a very happy client and, more importantly, hundreds of happy children with their sports hall looking like new.
